‘Welcome to this new era of making music. I invite you to step into the future that is happening right now. I was watching the dutch news lately and there was an item with and about artists who where affraid of the new AI. Everybody can type in what kind of song they want, who has to sing it or to what band it has to sound like. The recordings are coming out bizare realisticly. The artists that where featured in the item where afraid of losing control over music and songs. There was fear of being irrelevant at some point as artist that have songs that are used in commercials and stuff. But lets face it, the technology is here and it won’t go anywhere. I wanted to explore what it can bring us instead of fearing it first. It’s not the first time creativity is being matched by technology. Look at how realistic artist made paintings up till the point photography was invented. From that point painters started to create differently. Expressionism, cubism, and abstract art was born. Matisse, braque and picasso became the new leaders. I wanted to look at this situation the same way and learn from their perspective on new technology. So I took the liberty of creating my own samples by using AI. Seventies jazz and soul music. It took me some time to find out what I had to write down in the prompt but when I found the right words that brought the right sound it was a whole new playground. Let’s use AI to our advantage.’
